Sedona Photographer: Why to Book a Photographer in Sedona
If you want to schedule a photoshoot in a place that really screams “Southwest!” then Sedona is the place for you. The city’s iconic Red Rocks create a timeless look that’s straight out of an old western movie. Sedona is one of Arizona’s most striking desert landscapes that takes on a different feel for each of the seasons.
Summers in Sedona can be warm, but they also offer incredible sunsets from the monsoon clouds. The red tones of the iconic buttes take on a surreal glow during sunset this time of year, which creates a striking distinction against the desert vegetation.
Sedona’s elevation makes it one of the few places in Arizona that experiences four true seasons. This is especially notable in the fall when the leaves in areas near water turn bright shades of yellow and orange, making autumn my favorite time of year there. This vegetation against the Red Rocks and the serene waters of Oak Creek creates a unique contrast of colorful scenery. Fall colors tend to peak in Sedona from late September through mid-October, and the official Leaf-ometer helps predict when and where this will be each year.
Sedona’s relatively mild winter really highlights the beauty of Northern Arizona. The chilly weather often finds the city and buttes blanketed in snow, which makes for an intriguing contrast against the desert landscape. Bundling up against the weather can make for personal, fun photos that will be memorable for a lifetime (especially for kiddos and furry friends)!
Sedona’s cheerful spring season offers a bit of everything, from the occasional late snow to tons of wildflowers. The Red Rocks are filled with bright pops of color from mid-March to June with all sorts of desert blooms and vegetation. Between the blossoms and temperate weather, the Northern Arizona desert truly puts on a show.
