Sedona Family Photographer: The Smith Family
I always love overcast sessions in Sedona because it makes for such beautiful light on the iconic red rocks. This family session from November was no exception; the soft light filtering through the clouds really made the colors pop.
It’s also awesome when my clients coordinate outfit colors with themselves and the scenery, especially for extended family sessions like this one. The darker jewel tones complement each other as well as the orangey tones of Sedona. Wearing colors that stand out from the scenery make for a gorgeous contrast.
Extended family photo sessions are such a blast to photograph. I always try to get as many different combinations of people as possible, as well as individual shots and full group photos. Sedona is a great place to do this due to its unique views and various backdrops that change throughout the seasons. Making sure to communicate with everyone attending as to where we’ll meet, what to wear, and how the session will go is the hardest part - the photos are a breeze.
