Surprise Proposal Photographer Arizona: Jesse & Logan

Surprise engagements are always so special to photograph, and getting to capture this moment for one of my closest friends was truly an honor. From the moment I got the phone call from Logan, I knew that this photoshoot would be one to remember.

At first, we were worried that snowy weather and freezing temperatures would interfere with the “normal” couples photos we had planned. Luckily, the snow stopped just before Jesse and Logan came up to Flagstaff from Phoenix and made for some gorgeous, romantic photos. The light at sunrise was beautifully reflected off the snow, allowing me to use only natural light in nearly all of these images.

After a brief stint of regular photos, I posed the couple back to back. As secretly planned, Logan dropped to one knee as Jesse turned back to face him. There were lots of tears, and she said the easiest “yes” of her life.

One of the best things about being a portrait photographer is getting to freeze moments like this - the joyous, fleeting ones that go by too quickly to process. These moments are filled with adrenaline for those involved - and for the photographer tasked with capturing it - and often end up as some of the happiest of our lives. I always love photographing these moments and being a small part of them, but getting to do so for a long-time best friend after watching her relationship blossom is really something special. Congratulations Jesse and Logan - much love to you both!
